Tenerife, largest of the Canary islands, is situated about 200km off the west coast of North West Africa. "Fascinating" is the word for this island. It offers lush forest,exotic fauna and flora, deserts, volcano´s and a spectacular coastline. Beaches.

Triangular in shape, the island would fit into a rectangle about 80km wide by 90km high and has a road measured perimeter of about 360km. Mount Teide, the volcano which dominates the centre of the island stands 3718 metres high and is the highest point in Spain. The mountain divides the island in two contrasting parts. Southern Tenerife is much warmer and dryer and has a more desert appearence than the more lush tropical appearence of the North. The coastal areas enjoy the most sunshine and the minimum annual average air temperatures in TENERIFE are about 18ºC / 64ºF in winter and 25ºC / 77ºF in summer.
